How I work

Paul Schneider No. 000

«My three-dimensional works are precision craftsmanship. When I create a picture, I completely forget the time, I am completely immersed in the doing. Cutting and gluing the pyramids is hard work, painting and designing the picture is an elaborate process. For this I need peace and quiet, I don't want any distractions. I need to be alone. Working for hours with the bulky material and tools requires a systematic, precise approach. And manual dexterity. Sometimes it is also painful. After days of work immersed in myself, I feel the physical exertion. During the work I fade it out.

I call myself an artisan. I produce geometric shapes and assemble them into a systematic, coherent whole. My pictures stand for me and my values. They are always in the foreground.»
